Are these real?
Yes! There are no tricks – my images are created using only the two knobs. If you turn one it will create a horizontal line if you turn the other it will create a vertical line and if you turn them simultaneously you can create diagonal or curved lines.
In the name of staying true to the nature of the Etch A Sketch the images are created using one continuous line and I move around the canvas by tracing over existing lines.
Will they erase if I shake them?
No! They are 100% guaranteed permanent.
The configuration of the Etch A Sketch is a piece of glass that is coated with an extremely sticky aluminum powder that sits on top of a box filled with more powder. Inside of this box is a stylus that is controlled by the two knobs. This stylus scratches off the aluminum powder leaving a mark. When you want to erase the marks you turn it upside down and shake it to recoat the glass.
I can guarantee that my work will not erase or be altered because once I have completed my image I remove all of the powder and the stylus.
